3/16" Round Aluminum Eyelets

What is the difference between using aluminum or brass eyelets?
Brass eyelets hold their true form much better than aluminum eyelets. Brass does cost a bit more for Daydream Creaations to produce, but it's quality is much nicer because of that very reason. It's a known fact that aluminum is a much softer metal than brass, which is what makes aluminum slightly more prone to over-setting and deformation.

What does Daydream Creation Ltd.'s "scoring" feature actually do?
Scoring is a manufacturing method that is used exclusively on Daydream Creations brand of eyelets. You will notice the scoring at the very base of the eyelet flange shaft. If you look closely you will see the tiny vertically scored lines at the end. These special scored lines on our Daydream Creations, Ltd., eyelets help the shaft to split and curl, which makes them even easier to set. This puts to rest the all rumors that brass eyelets are harder to set than aluminum eyelets. Rest assured that Daydream Creations brass eyelets set with total and complete ease.

Are eyelets safe to use on paper?
Yes. The metal that Daydream Creations use to produce their eyelets is the exact same material that is used in making eyelets throughout the world in the shoe and clothing industry. Daydream Creations metals and paints have been tested and found to be safe by all USA and European standards. Their products have been tested and verified by preservationists, and they have been certified to be safe to use.

Will the metal discolor my paper?
No. As long as you are not planning to wash your scrapbook pages, Daydream Creations eyelets will not harm your paper in any way. The only recommendation that they have for you though is to not use any eyelets directly on the pictures themselves. The chemicals in the photos reacting with the metal could speed up the deterioration of the pictures.
