Scrapbooking is addiciting but very rewarding and a lot of fun! I am sorry to hear about your mom. I am happy to hear that you had a great vacation with her and those memories will last a lifetime. What supplies to start scrapbooking with...well there are so many to choose from. As for tools I would start with a cutter so that you can cut your pictures and paper. I would go with the Cutterpede from EK Success since you can use a straight blade but you can also purchase decorative blades and use those as well on the same cutter. It's a great tool and can give you many different looks on your page with the decorative blades for a good price. Another must have I think is the Instant Eyelet Setter from Making Memories. I think I probaby use eyelets on almost every page I scrapbook. Eyelets are not very expensive and can be used to dress up your pages in many different ways. You'll need a great adhesive...I like the Herma Dotto removable adhesive. I like this because it's removable so that if I make a mistake placing an item on my paper I can easily move it. Other then the few tools to get started and adhesive it really comes to your own personal choices on what you like. I love brads...these are very easy to use and can be used in many different ways. I love chipboard letters and decorative tape. The decorative tapes can be used to place photos or embellishments on your paper which makes it a great essential. I love the look of the Prima flowers and use them on many of my pages. I use brads to hold the flowers on my pages. This works great! Another great embellishment is ribbon and a newer released item is paper frills. I love the paper frills. They are easy to work with and easy to adhere to your paper.
